Ru Yi loves conceptualizing, especially telling stories through illustrations. Armed with a passion for drawing and a strong interest in digital art and animation, she enrolled in Nanyang Polytechnic’s Digital Media Design course, specializing in Digital Animation.

In 2009, she was involved in the production of a Anti-Piracy short film which won the Best Anti-Piracy trailer. The trailer was later launched in movie theatres island-wide. This sparked off her interest in production.

She started working in a video production company as a 3D generalist upon graduation. In December 2012, Ru Yi was encouraged and inspired to direct a short film during her trip to Hokkaido with her team. Her Short film “The New Chapter” was later selected as the Top Ten Finalists in ShortsNonStop Online Film Festival.

In 2013, Ruyi left her job to focus on illustrations and video productions. She was involved and has managed various projects in Create Pictures such as Video Productions, Animation and Storyboarding. She continues to pursue her passion and looks forward to producing more creative work with the team.
