The love of telling stories is what inspired Calvin to be the creative force he is today. After graduating from school with a Diploma in Interactive Media, Calvin went on to make several short films that would express his artistic vision.

In 2009, he produced a provoking piece on the future of cinema, which won the Best Anti-Piracy Trailer in the Anti-Piracy Trailer Short Film Competition. His trailer was later launched in movie theatres island-wide. In 2010, his short Film “Mother” was part of the 23rd Singapore International Film Festival and also won the Crowbar Bronze Award for Original Soundtrack and Music.

Calvin went on to produce his first art film, “The Colored Chair”, a personal project inspired by his father. “The Colored Chair” was nominated as a first finalist for Best Director in 2011’s Crowbar Awards. It was later an Official Selection for the ITSA Film Festival in California (2011) and was screened in Sonora and Groveland.

In 2013, Calvin made a life-changing decision to leave his full-time job and pursue his long-time passion as a filmmaker. Till now, he has been actively involved in all range of productions such as corporate videos, TV dramas, Telemovie and Films.
